Corpus Christi 2010

Corpus Christi was a significant day for St John’s on various counts.
It was a day when we gave thanks for the Most Blessed Sacrament. It was a day when we eight members of our congregation received the Sacrament of Confirmation, and one baptised too. It was a day when we had the joy of having the bishop with us. It was the day when Forward in Faith Rochester came to St John’s to celebrate Corpus Christi and to hold its AGM.
It was a busy day but one that left those who took part marked with the joy of our Faith. This Parish is blessed with growth and vitality; under the leadership of Bishop John it has received countless blessings. It was good that at this difficult time for Anglo-Catholics we gathered to celebrate Jesus present in the Sacrament of the altar and in each other. He is with us as he promised and we will keep the Faith.
What cruel irony that as we celebrated this feast and our faith Catholic we learn from the media that the CofE has decided to allow divorcees to qualify as bishops. Read here. When is this sad parody coming to an end?
