Quinquagesima Sunday

Early Mass in a packed Lady Chapel where we spoke about the coming Lent as a moment of Grace and Refreshment, immersing in the Mystery of Christ.

I said Morning Prayer on my own as Fr Mark is away preaching and celebrating at Belvedere. This would be his third Mass of Candlemass.

A very good attendance for the Parish Mass which also saw the Baptism of Harry. He was ever so well behaved throughout all the Mass. We wish him well. I announced that we are planning to acquire new vestments for the Mass, people have been very generous in offering to buy one in memory of a loved one.

After Mass I had the opportunity of meeting new people who have joined our congregation in the last week or so.

The sacristy team was very busy clearing away and getting ready for Ash Wednesday. A full programme for that day:

9am Lauds

9,30am Mass with ashing

10.25am Ashing at school

11am Ashing at Hospital and Homes

3pm Stations of the Cross

5.10pm Office of Readings, Meditation and Vespers

8pm Parish Mass with ashing; Preacher: The Bishop of Tonbridge.
