Thursday 25 September 2008

Usual round of Thursday morning religion; during Mass, as happens daily, ably assisted by Roger, we welcomed a lady who has just moved here from South Africa and who is planning to make St John’s her Church.
After Mass John took communion to the Gloucester House Residential Home where they celebrated Harvest. Tony brought Fr Martirii and we headed to Bickley where after Mass celebrated by Bishop John (today being the 12th anniversary of his Episcopal consecration), Fr Martirii attended the meeting of Chapter 17. Personally I find it very meaningful when I find myself part of a college of priests around their bishop. I am grateful for that experience today.
Back to Sevenoaks, Frances fixed the tabernacle back to the altar after repainting it. Well done Frances. Following this the churchwardens and I interviewed the three shortlisted candidates for the post of Parish Administrator. The candidates have done very well to be shortlisted from a large number of capable applicants; hence it was more difficult for us to have to choose from the shortlisted. The decision has now been made and the candidate will be notified tomorrow.
Please keep us in your prayers as we embark on this new and exciting venture in the life of our Parish.
