Today we celebrate the feast of St John, Apostle and Evangelist. The youngest of the chosen twelve and the one that was not married. He was the blessed one who rested his head on Jesus during the Last Supper. When the rest fled he stood under the cross with Mary. There he represented the Church and Mary was entrusted to him as she was given by Jesus as his mother and therefore ours also. He is the one who points us to the mystery of real love and describes God as Love.
We ask his intercession for the Church today, so that we can be true children of Mary and love Jesus as both he and Mary loved him.
