The Latin Patriarch arrives at the Basilica of the Anastasis very early and celebrates the Liturgy of the Palms in the Empty Tomb and a Solemn Mass in front of the same edicule.
From there he proceeds to Bethany where he blesses the Palms and leads the procession of thousands of people to Jerusalem.
The joyful procession achieves momentum as soon as pilgrims behold Jerusalem.
The procession ends at the Crusader Basilica of St Anne when the Patriarch gives benediction with the relic of the True Cross.
