The month of Mary was brought to a conclusion on the streets of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
The evening started with the Parish Priest of Jerusalem celebrating a solemn Mass at his church of St Saviour in the presence of the Patriarch.
After Mass a procession winds its way through the streets, the Patriarch carrying an icon of the Blessed Virgin and a statue of her carried behind him shoulder high. People decorate their balconies and doors with images of Our Lady. Girls are vested in special robes in honour of the Virgin. Let us unite with the Christians of Jerusalem in giving thanks to God for all the blessings showered upon us this month through the hands of Mary.
