Gozo

A visit to Malta would not be complete without a visit to the sister island of Gozo. Going to Gozo is really stepping back in time. It is a small, quiet island where the pace of life is very agreeable.
Enjoy the pics.

The parish of Our Lady of the Assumption in Zebbug, Gozo. Some twenty years back marble was found in a field in the parish. The owner donated all of it to the church. The inside of the church was all covered and there was to spare. The decision was taken to use what was left to make marble confessional boxes. This marble of the onyx type is not found anywhere else and makes this church unique. The donor, who died a couple of years ago, was offered a lot of money for this precious marble, but he decided to use it all in his church.
Heading back home some 12 hours later.
