Our Lady of Lourdes, 2010

Apart from the usual round of joyful duties, at St John’s today we had the School weekly Collective Worship which was about Lent. At the school today the pupils were holding a Victorian day and so all came to church in Victorian costumes. After the service the pupils were taken around to see the Victorian windows.
As the school was leaving church Jolly Tots, the preschool group, came in for their bi-monthly worship led by our pastoral assistant, Jackie. It was great to see so many kids around.
While this was happening, one of our Readers, John was leading one of our nursing homes in their Holy Communion service
The afternoon was spent preparing a candidate for Baptism and eventually Confirmation. He joined me for Vespers and Rosary in church. This was followed by correspondence, e-mails and several phone calls. I think now for some deserved quiet time.
