Two wonderful but very busy days! The usual duties of every Friday were kept whilst the parish exhibition attracted a steady stream of visitors.
Mass on Friday morning was a votive one of Our Lady to mark the conclusion of the month of the Holy Rosary. In the evening we recited the Rosary before benediction.
Today the church was open all day long. We had no morning Mass but Lauds started the day. Another steady stream of visitors came for the exhibition. However, all the energies today were focused on the evening Mass during which the preacher was Dr Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester.
The weather today was truly wet and miserable and cold, but this did not stop a good number of people to fill the church.
The Bishop gave us an excellent sermon about holiness found in being open to God and saying yes to Him in the vicissitudes of daily life, like Our Lady, St. Paul, St John and Isaiah and so many others.
After Mass we went in the hall for fellowship. The servers launched their Christmas Cards proceeds of which will go towards the much needed new cassocks and cottas. The Bishop spoke to most if not all those assembled and the atmosphere was great. Thanks be to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us today, thanks to all those who worked so hard to make this day such a wonderful occasion and thank you to Bishop Michael for being with us, for his teaching and for his steadfast witness towards the Gospel not only in his diocese but in this nation and beyond.
