Lady Day 2010 in Nazareth

The feast of the Annunciation in the place it happened starts the evening before at 4pm when the Patriarch of Jerusalem is solemnly received in the Basilica of Nazareth. This is followed by the solemn celebration of the First Vespers. This is followed by a night vigil in front of the Most Blessed exposed on the altar in front of the Holy House.
On the day the Pontifical Mass starts at 10am. After Mass there is a procession with the Golden Rose that was offered to the Basilica during which three stops are made for the proclamation of three gospels by three priests. The first Gospel (at the North side) is Jn 1: 1-8; the second one (at the South side) is Jn 1: 18 and the third one (at the West side) is Mt 1:18-25. The procession ends with the solemn blessing to which is attached a plenary indulgence.
Please do pray for the Christians of the Holy Land during Holy Week and please do support them financially if you are able. Images from the Custody.
