150 years old today

On this day 150 years ago the foundation stone of our church was laid. There was a vision and brave people believed in it and entrusted it to God. They must have made sacrifices to get their vision realised. Today we benefit from the courage of our forbears.

We shall mark this day solemnly a week tomorrow at 10am, the Bishop of Beverley will lead us into giving thanks.

The foundation stone represents Christ "our sure foundation", in him we are raised as living stones into the temple pleasing to God. I think it appropriate to include some photos from the baptism of beautiful Rachel. Rachel was baptised here last Sunday, she is the latest living stone added to Christ the cornerstone. I find it appropriate that the foundation stone is located exactly next to the Font.
