From General Synod today:
Answering to a supplementary question asked by Prebendary David Houlding SSC, the Bishop of Rochester said that the Church of England has committed itself to a process of reception as regards the ordination of women. He said that both those in favour and against the issue can be in good standing in the Church. For this reason the Church of England must make provision for those who oppose such innovation.
Will Synod realise that provision needs to be structural? A Code of Practice will not do!
