Vienna VI

Among the wonderful treasures of the Cathedral Church is the chapel of Relics. This is situated in the North West tower of Stephansdom, hundreds of feet above contradiction. It was a medieval security measure. Mass is celebrated in that chapel only once a year after the first Vespers of All Saints. The relics are kept in excellent condition.

These two medieval frescoes, recently uncovered, prepare the pilgrims as they enter the chapel of relics. They represent the glory of the saints in heaven.
