Palm Sunday in Jerusalem

Very early on Palm Sunday the Blessing of the Palms and the Mass are celebrated next to the Holy Sepulchre. This year it was exceptionally busy as the Greek Orthodox and the Copts were also celebrating their liturgies of the Palms. Those in Green vestments are the Greeks while those in white are the Copts.
In the afternoon a solemn procession descends the Mount of Olives and ends with the Patriarch blessing the crowds with the relic of the True Cross from the steps of the Basilica of St Anne by the pool of Siloam. This, as you can see from these pictures taken by the Custody, is a very joyful and moving day. As ever, please  remember these Christians in your prayers and offerings.
