The Ascension of the Lord

"He whom you love is no longer in Jerusalem, he is wherever you are."
This wonderful feast was celebrated with joy yesterday as we baptised Oliver, fulfilling what our Lord asked before his glorious ascension.
We are grateful to Claudia who stepped in as organist with less then ten minutes notice as the cover organist did not show up.
During coffee time David and Margaret raised funds for the Walsingham Cell by selling tomato plants. All were taken very quickly indeed as we all know that David and Margaret's plants are always fruitful! But do you expect less from good Christians?
After hospital visits the day came to an end with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at the Walsingham Altar.
The sadness today was the church bell. In my time here it has never worked, but as we are doing restoration work on the outside of the church, the pulley system was fixed and last Thursday the bell rung or Our Lady of Fatima. It rung every day since but yesterday the rope gave way as one of the servers was ringing the Regina Coeli. How disappointing, I will keep an eye out for those workers this morning.
