Ss Peter & Paul

Peter the Apostle and Paul the teacher of the Gentiles -

these two have taught us your law, O Lord.

This day is also the day when we ponder upon the primacy of the See of Rome, noble Rome made holy by the blood of Peter and Paul. As we celebrate this day let us continue to pray for the unity of the Church.

Lord Jesus, who prayed that we might all be one, we pray to You for the unity of Christians, according to Your will. May Your Spirit enable us to experience the suffering caused by division, to see our sin, and to hope beyond all hope. Amen.
